Stuart Weir
Stuart has over 30 years of experience acting as a legal adviser to developers, investors, borrowers, lenders, underwriters, and arrangers in property investment and construction projects, project finance matters, structured finance, and debt capital markets transactions, including PPPs, acquisition finance, and leveraged buyouts in domestic and cross-border transactions.
Stuart commenced practice with top-tier firm Simpson Grierson in New Zealand, spent four years as a senior finance lawyer in London with Slaughter and May and separately White & Case, and then relocated to Melbourne, where he worked with leading Australian firms Allens and Maddocks as a banking and finance partner for 12 years for both firms.
In addition, while in London, Stuart spent six months as an in-house transactional lawyer in working for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in relation to major infrastructure loans into eastern Europe.
Accordingly, Stuart brings extensive senior private practice and in-house experience across 3 legal jurisdictions to his position as general counsel to Solovey.
